3º ESO english project 3 (2015-16)

PLANNING A SHOOL TRIP

Planning a trip is usually a difficult task. But it gets worse when what you have to plan is an end of year school trip. Options are endless, and there are so many people involved that it's really hard to come to an agreement about where to go, what to do, etc.

In this project, you will pretend you are travel agents planning an end of year trip for 3º ESO students for 5 days in June. You can offer them one of these destinations: England, Scotland, Wales, Nothern Ireland, Republic of Ireland, and Malta. Also, you will have to stick to a budget of 1,000€ (200€ per person) for the transport tickets, accommodation, sport activities, etc. Plane tickets and food are not included.

tasks
  1. Make groups of five. Each member will have one of the following roles:

      ITINERARY EXPERT
      COUNTRY EXPERT
      TRANSPORT AND ACCOMODATION EXPERT
      ACTIVITIES EXPERT
      LANGUAGE EXPERT

  2. Get information about your destination (main cities, landmarks, ...).

  3. Book plane/train/bus tickets and hotel/hostal/etc. on the Internet, and capture the screen with your bookings.

  4. Choose interesting activities for every day. Then book them on the Internet, and capture the screen with your bookings.

  5. Present your plan to the class. In the presentation you must include:

    aaaaIIInformation of your destinationaaaaaa

    Every day schedule.

  6. Write a script and hand it to your teacher. You must include:

Budget sheet.

tips

After watching all presentations, every student will have to rate them on a scale of 1 to 10. So try to plan a trip as much interesting as possible, with lots of exciting activities and some free time, too. The top-rated presentation will get extra marks!

You can decide whether you offer a well-set plan, or give the option to choose from different types or accommodation, activities, etc.
Include nice pictures and/or videos. Make people want to go there and do the activities you have chosen for them.

evaluation
At the end of the project, you will be evaluated by your teacher and your classmates. We'll use these evaluation forms:
