You can see them sunbathing in Maspalomas or El Inglés, shopping in Triana, having a drink in local pubs ... Yes, they are TOURISTS. But, do you know anything about them? Do you know where they come from, or if it is their first time in the island? Do you know why they have decided to spend their holidays here? Well, with this project you will learn lots of things about the more than 10 million tourists who come to the Canary Islands every year.
tasks
- Make teams of six.
- Your teacher will give you a topic.
- In class, make questions about that topic. Make sure people can understand what you are asking, and that you can pronounce all words.
- On 9th February we'll go to Maspalomas, so that you can interview tourists. In Maspalomas, groups will be formed with one student from each team. You will be given about two hours to make interviews and write down the answers you get. The more interviews you do, the better! And extra marks will be given to students who record some of their interviews (you can use mobile phones, or MP3 players).
- Back at school, you'll meet your team and prepare a presentation about your topic. You must include:
